Every year Apple releases new phones, setting off a trend that is now followed by all its competitors. While the new releases may have better features, most users consider them minor changes and not worth spending an exorbitant amount of cash on. Instead, these consumers are switching to refurbished phones to meet their requirements.
Buying a new iPhone is perfectly okay if you have the money for it. In the same vein, buying a refurbished iPhone at a reasonable price is a perfect option too. Mobile Guru has a great collection of refurbished iPhones at pocket-friendly prices if you’re looking for one. Have you already purchased a refurbished iPhone and need help setting it up your iPhone? Don’t worry! It’s pretty much the same as setting up a new iPhone. We have a step-by-step guide to help you set up your new device.
● First of all, turn on your iPhone
Once the device has been turned on, ‘Hello’ will appear on your screen, allowing you to choose your language, country or region.
If your device has iOS 11 or above, use Quick Start. If not, tap Set Up Manually.
● Activate your device
To continue setting up your device, you must connect to a Wi-Fi network, mobile network or iTunes account. When connecting to your device (Wi-Fi/Cellular), you may need to insert your SIM card first.
● Set up iPhone Touch ID or Face ID feature / create a passcode
Most iPhones allow you to set up a touch ID or face ID feature. These features mean you can use your fingerprint or face recognition to unlock your iPhone and make purchases in the Appstore. If you don’t want these features on your device, just click ‘Set Up Later’. Another option is to set up a six-digit passcode, which helps protect your data on your device. You will need to remember this passcode, as you need to feed it whenever you want to unlock your device.
● Restore or transfer your information
If you’ve previously had an iCloud account, iTunes account or Android, you can transfer your data from your old device to your new one. If you don’t have either, simply choose ‘Set up as new device’.
● Sign in with your Apple ID
If you have chosen to sign in with your Apple ID, the next step is to enter your ID and password. If you have forgotten these details, just tap ‘Don’t have an Apple ID or forgot it’. Doing this allows you to recover your Apple ID or password. With Apple, you can supply more than one ID. If this is the case, click ‘Use different Apple IDs for iCloud and iTunes’.
● Set up Siri and other services
Another brilliant feature of Apple devices is Siri, a built-in voice-controlled personal assistant. This step may ask you to speak a few phrases so that Siri can start recognising your voice.
● Choose settings for app analytics, True Tone, and the Home button
If you want to share information with app developers, just tap to confirm. If the device you are using supports True Tone, you can adjust the colour and intensity of the display.
And voila! Your refurbished iPhone set-up is done. If you have already purchased it from Mobile Guru, it has already undergone a factory reset so you don’t have to worry about having any data from a previous user. All you have to do is follow the aforementioned steps. If you still have questions, call Mobile Guru on 1300 362 017, and our dedicated team will be happy to help you.
