Early Life
Kerri Browitt Caviezel is a British teacher who is best recognized as the victim of the UK Dunblane school shooting. She was shot eight times by gunman Thomas Hamilton on 16 March 1996 at her school, Dunblane Primary School. She has since recovered from her injuries and currently works as a teacher in the United States.
Kerri Browitt Caviezel was born and raised in Mount Vernon, Washington. Caviezel is a native of Washington and has spent her entire life in the state.
Kerri Browitt Caviezel is the youngest of four children born to Jean Vendetta and her husband, Bill Caviezel. Kerri has two brothers, David and Greg, and a sister, Lori. Her family is close-knit and Kerri often spends time with her siblings, parents, and grandparents. Kerri loves spending time outdoors–she enjoys hiking and camping with her family. In her spare time, she likes to read, cook, play video games, and listen to music.
Kerri Browitt Caviezel graduated from Cle Elum High School in Cle Elum, Washington in 2006. She was a standout athlete who played soccer and basketball. Caviezel also participated in track and field, winning the state championship in the shot put event her junior year. Caviezel went on to attend Western Washington University where she majored in communications and minored in business marketing. Career
Kerri Browitt had always been a writer. After graduating from college with a degree in English, she decided to take up a job as an English teacher in a high school in her hometown of Houston, Texas. Kerri was thrilled when the school hired her, and she was even more delighted when she met her students and started working with them. She loved teaching and helping kids learn how to write well. She also enjoyed sharing her love of literature with them. Unfortunately, Kerri’s life changed forever on November 2nd, 2013 when a gunman walked into the school and opened fire, killing 10 people and injuring several others. Kerri was one of the victims. She was shot twice in the head and died instantly. The outpouring of grief from Kerri’s friends and family was heartwarming to see News.
Browitt is a highly experienced English teacher who has worked in public and private schools for the past several years. She began teaching after completing her undergraduate degree at a notable university and has since been employed in a high school where she currently teaches freshman English. Browitt’s background as an academic and educator makes her an excellent teacher, able to motivate her students to succeed both academically and linguistically.
